The logo seen above is the logo for the 2007 Grey Cup which is the Canadian Football League's championship game this year being played in Toronto.
The two teams contesting at the Rogers Centre on Sunday November 25th 2007, from the East Division, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers who defeated the Toronto Argonauts 19-9 on November 18 2007 in Ontario's Capital, and from the West Division, the Saskatchewan Rough Riders who defeated the defending champion B.C. Lions at B.C. Place in Vancouver by a score of 26-17.
The Bombers ride to the Grey Cup wasn't an easy trip.In the East Division semi-finals the Blue Bombers went up against the Montreal Allouettes who were coming off a loss to in Week 18. After the first half the Al's had a commanding 16-10 lead. After the third quarter Winnipeg was down 19-17. Montreal scored a quick field goal at the start of the fourth quarter to go up 22-17. But the Bombers responded with a touchdown late to win 24-22.
In the East Final the Bombers took a easy victory over the Argonauts 19-9. The Argo's struggled offensively and defensively but shined in there usually week spot special teams.
On the west side of things the Rough Riders took a close won 26-24 over the Calgary Stampeders on Rememberance Day 2007 but went into a tough battle against the 14-3 Lions who were heavy favourites considering they were defending champions. At the half it was 13-10, Riders who scored one touchdown and two field goals. Going into the fourth it was 26-17 and it would stay that way until the end.
Saskatchewan quarterback Kerry Joseph has some excpierience having been in the big dance,in NFL Europe that is. On Winnipeg's side Kevin Glenn was injured in the second round of the playoffs so Ryan dinwiddie will start his first ever game on Sunday. Key players for the Saskatchewan is quarterback Kerry Joseph on offense with Winnipeg, Charles Roberts. On defence Tom Canada for the Bombers and on d for the Riders, James Johnson.
My pick to win this game is Saskatchewan 21-17 and Kerry Joseph will be the MVP.
